The gentle giants of the dog world.

Great Danes are considered the gentle giants of the dog world. They have a beautiful gentle and genial nature. They are kind and humble but at the same time they have a regal presence. They are very loyal and affectionate to those they love.

Great Danes can stand up to an imposing 85 centimetres. They have large heads with soft, flat ears and low-lying jowls. Great Danes have a very muscular body with a sleek, shorthaired coat that comes in fawn, brindle, black, blue (dark grey), harlequin, merle and mantle.

Great Danes are easy to train and benefit from early socialisation. As they grow so quickly it is important to start at a young age so that you will be able to manage them well.

Great Danes are very adaptable. They adapt to both large and small settings. Great Danes enjoy living with active families and they also flourish and are comfortable living in apartments, as long as they are exercised twice a day. If you’re an active person they will enjoy being active with you. If you prefer a slower paced life, your Great Dane will very much enjoy spending quiet time with you. They only need a moderate amount of exercise of 30-60 minutes per day to stay fit and healthy.

Great Danes are short haired and do not shed. They have a low body odour. They guard your home well without being aggressive. Their size alone is a powerful deterrent to any possible intruders, especially if they stand on their hind legs and bark!!!!
